Now in its eighth year of operation, Paladin Training was formed to provide first quality, up-to-date firearms and crime prevention training to law abiding citizens, private security and law-enforcement officers and the military. THIS IS OUR MISSION.

Steve Cooper's Paladin Training has provided Level One, Two and Three SLED certification to over one hundred and thirty of my personnel. Outstanding in both classroom and on the range, Steve has a phenomenal way of teaching small arms. Addressing all levels of experience, giving personal attention, and measurably improving the skills of every security officer he trained. Steve's steady emphasis on the hard truths of gunfighting has undoubtedly increased my officers' survival skills. No matter how well your people shoot today, they will shoot better after experiencing Paladin Training. I give them my strongest possible recommendation.

Our philosophy of training, based primarily on experience gained in the military, law-enforcement and nuclear security, is to train the fundamentals to the point their execution becomes automatic and reliable under stress. The environment we're preparing you for is fluid, dynamic, and unforgiving.
“In war, everything is simple, but even the simple things are difficult.” Carl Von Clausewitz

We believe the best way to help you WIN is to:
  1. Concentrate on the basics in our curriculum - We don't teach high-speed low-drag super-Ninja techniques. The more complicated a technique is, the more practice time must be regularly devoted to it. Who has time for that? For most of us they're unnecessary and time spent on them is counter-productive.
“The winner in combat is determined by who best executes the fundamentals.” Anonymous

  2. Teach in principles and fundamentals (the 'why' behind the 'what') - No mysteries. You must understand not only what you're doing, but why you're doing it. Things rarely work the way they should, even in the best of circumstances. Expect the unexpected and be able to push past it.
“Adapt, improvise, overcome.” GySgt Highway (Clint Eastwood) in 'Heartbreak Ridge'

  3. Take a holistic approach to training - The techniques and tactics we teach don't exist in separate vacuums. The laws of physics, our legal system, and moral constraints tie all inextricably together.

  4. Help you establish good practice habits - You will not master a skill at anyone's school. We provide a solid foundation, but whether or not you become competent ultimately depends on you and you alone. Remember: Practice makes permanent. Perfect practice makes perfect, so you can achieve mastery if and when you so desire.
